 Citi Celebrity Challenge... WOW!
The Wesbank Super series came to town this past weekend and the racing was pretty dissapointing save for Polo Cup and the Celebrity race! The ou toppies stole the show with some of the closest racing I've seen in ages. 3 abreast through turn 3 at Killarney (not something I've ever attemted!) and swopping positions before turn 4 made for some spectacular driving. Moss, Giniel, Aberdien and a few others...sjoe, those boys still have it. Results are here. http://www.mylaps.com/results/showrun.jsp?id=1324910Driver of the day for me was Aberdien, but he got taken out in race two after winning the first heat. Anybody got any pics?!?

Deon from VWMS was there and told me about it. I would have given my left nut to see the old guys racing in a one maker. Believe Terry Moss was peerless in the wet?

I wanted to see these 2 races so badly. Damn kiddies parties ..... and their J&B With those Citi's it should've been sponsored by AVIS cos their car's are driven exactly like that

Moss was good but Aberdein had them all whipped until he got punted off. From what I hear Moss shoved his way through! Still the racing was lekker tight and from what I saw, clean.

Saw the coverage on Wesbank Super Series coverage. First spoke to Andre vd Watt re: VW racing thru the years.
The racing was epic........ 11tybillion times better than the so called prima donna classes. The old toppies have lost none of there skills. Epic.... catch the repeats.

Was just there watching practice, guys are doing around 2'18/19. Don't know how they qualified but Geniel was quickest by a bit of a margin but the next 10 were within a second. Looks like its going to be fun to watch though

Just watched it on tele. Epic racing, except for Moss who can't seem to pass without knocking people off.

Brought back fond memories from the good old days of Touring Cars. The best yet. Great marketing too!
